SONGWRITING AMMO

There are many supportive resources for songwriters - national and local songwriter organizations, and websites. Take advantage if you want to make money from your songs! No matter how good an artist you are, it's hard to create a large fan base without great songs. Many of the songwriter's organizations offer songwriting workshops that can be very beneficial for honing your skills as well as for making good contacts. Hone your craft until it's as good as you think it can be, and then try to improve it even more. Many of these organizations and websites offer the opportunity to find other songwriters to collaborate with. Successful songwriters advise writing with others to expand your range and the contacts for getting songs placed.

Music Business Registry has several directories that can help you make more money from your songwriting. Music Publisher Registry lists most music publishers with their direct dial numbers. The Film/TV Music Guide is a directory of music supervisors, and much more for film and television. These are great references and always up-to-date! There are other directories that you might find helpful, so check out this site.
